Permitted use
You may use ShowMyIP to inspect addresses and connection details associated with your own browser session, troubleshoot a network you are authorized to use, and learn about public internet routing. Automated collection, attempts to bypass Turnstile or rate limits, disruption of the service, and use that violates applicable law or another person’s rights are prohibited.
No identity or location proof
An IP address identifies an internet routing endpoint, not necessarily a person, household, or device. Shared networks, VPNs, proxies, mobile gateways, and carrier-grade NAT can associate many users with one address or one user with several addresses. Approximate geolocation can be outdated or can point to an ISP facility. Do not use a ShowMyIP result as sole proof of identity, residence, presence, ownership, or misconduct.
Diagnostic limitations
The multi-region test samples a limited period and a defined set of endpoints. A consistent result does not prove that an address never changes. A differing result does not by itself prove CGNAT or VPN use. Browser behavior, DNS, local routing, temporary provider changes, and endpoint availability can affect results.
Availability and accuracy
The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Endpoints may be delayed, rate-limited, changed, or unavailable. ShowMyIP aims to label observations and uncertainty clearly but does not warrant that every result, location estimate, header interpretation, or educational explanation is complete or error-free.
Third-party services
Cloudflare, AWS, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and related consent services operate under their own terms and policies. Links to external documentation are provided for convenience and do not imply control over or endorsement of every external statement.
Changes
The diagnostic method, supported regions, and these terms may change as infrastructure and browser behavior evolve. Continued use after an update means you accept the current terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
