About ShowMyIP

Independent views of your internet connection

ShowMyIP is a network diagnostic utility published by ShowMyIP. It was created to answer a question that ordinary one-server IP checkers cannot: do different destinations see the same public address for your connection?

Last updated: September 19, 2026

Why this site exists

A normal IP checker reports what one server sees at one moment. That is useful, but it can hide destination-based routing. Mobile carriers, enterprise gateways, VPN services, and carrier-grade NAT systems may send connections through different exits depending on where a service is hosted.

ShowMyIP makes that behavior easier to observe. Cloudflare provides an immediate edge-network observation. With user verification, the multi-region test then sends independent requests to twelve AWS regions over five rounds. Matching addresses are grouped together, while differences remain visible with the source that reported each address.

What makes the test different

Editorial approach

The guides on this site are written specifically to help people interpret IP and routing results. They focus on practical troubleshooting, explain uncertainty, and avoid presenting IP geolocation or network classifications as precise facts. Content is reviewed when the diagnostic method or relevant web platform behavior changes.

ShowMyIP does not sell VPN subscriptions, rank providers for commissions, or require an account. That helps keep the diagnostic explanations focused on the behavior a visitor can verify rather than on promoting a particular service.

Infrastructure and funding

The site is delivered through Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention. The multi-region observations run on AWS. Google Analytics is used with regional consent controls to understand aggregate usage. The site may use Google AdSense to fund hosting and continued development; advertising does not change the test results.

Start with the live evidence: use the multi-region IP checker, then read the CGNAT guide if different addresses appear.
